After a year of researching, I just received my 2011 170 SP. I'm in the Chicago burbs. I purchased the boat from Jetts Marine...850 miles away. I'm an inland freshwater fisherman, and am glad to see that they are making a tiller model. If this boat can "walk the talk" it will be great! I know the 170 hull has been around for many years.I'm a very avid angler, my 5 years of use is like a lifetime of use for the average angler. I'm counting on this boat being "tough"! I'll be making some mods (adding a lockable rod storage box) I'll post pics when it's done. I'll also be using the boat for a fishing show I'm producing that will air in Jan of 2013 in the midwest.
I purchased the DVD from this site. I was expecting more like a home made type of a DVD. I was very impressed! The quality and production was great! Thanks NC Angler, Great job!

Thanks. I'm glad you liked the DVD. Congratulations on the 170!

Hey Shell, couldn't help but notice that you are from the Chicago area.... so am I. I purchased a used 17cc last year, but only use it at my summer home in Maine. I couldn't be happier with the boat, I used it almost every day last summer and can't wait to put it in the water again this June. I really think you will be happy with the 17, have a great summer of fishing!

I've owned the boat for almost 1.5 years now. Boat is great, handles well. No major complaints.
Glad to see that Triumph has added another tiller model to their lineup.
As far as the fishing show, it is still in the works and coming along better than I had hoped, just a delay (learning curve) in getting it ready for TV. (5) shows filmed to date, so looks very promising it will air next January. Send me a private message with your email and I'll send you a link for the pilot show.
