Hello all, I'm new to the site. Glad to be here. I recently bought a 2005 Triumph 150 cc w/ 2004 yamaha 50 hp 2 stroke engine. I feel I'm not getting the best performance from it. It dogs to get on plane with just me (6' 230) on board and about a full tank. I have run wot and get about 4700 rpms and 28 mph. I'm thinking the prop may be wrong. It is 11 1/4- 14-G aluminum. Is that the recommended standard prop for the engine? I'm going to switch to a ss prop. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all.

I contacted Chad Merritt at MerrittMarine.com about your question and here was his response:
Hearing his rpm's, I would defiantly drop the pitch of the prop. Since he is going stainless, I'd recommend a 13p or 12p. His WOT rpm should be around 5,500 - 5,800. Hope this helps. -Chad
