Stripers and the Potomac

I need to gather some information on fishing for stripers in the Potomac from DC to the 301 Bridge area. I see a lot of posts on the bass sites talking about catching stripers this time of year by accident and would like to get more information on where to fish for them, seasons, etc. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks as always.

JM,
I dont know what it's like fishing for stripers down there but up here the "tube & worm" works like a charm. Got to www.ontherocksfishing.com and order some of these babies. Last count on my boat was 285 stripers before they headed down your way. I'm possitive they'll work down your way. Hope this helps and good luck.

I hope this helps.

Yes and no

I chickened out and went back to my old familiar striper grounds on Lake Anna. With so little time to fish it was hard to spend the day exploring when this time of year I am pretty certain I can find the fish on Anna. We boated 9 stripers with 4 keepers, biggest one about 5 lbs so not too bad. All caught in the splits area using 4 inch pearl sassy shads rigged on a 1/4 ounce white jig head. I plan on going out of Aquia Creek on Friday, just hope the wind cooperates. Thanks for asking. The Potomac News report was very helpful.
