Saltwater boating question

I am a freshwater boater from Ohio. However, I will be using my 170 CC in Florida for the month of January. I have a dock to use. I know I need to wash down the topside after each use. How often should I take my boat out of the water and wash the hull? Or, can I leave it in the water for the full month? Thanks for any advice.

If i'ts not painted you could have some good growth in a couple of weeks. A good pressure wash will take care of it.

If you can I would at least try and run freah water through the engine after each use, as for the hull, dont really matter any groth can be cleaned off.

Salt...the biggest killer

Eddie and Gene are correct. Problem is, I don't know how you could flush the engine while the boat is in the water. Tilting up the engine while running may not be a good thing.

You really need to pull the boat out of the water and flush the engine using lower unit "ear muffs" and run for 10 minutes. The salt builds up quickly and you will be amazed at how fast the stainless steel starts to get surface rust.

If you can't flush the engine, at least tilt is up all the way when done boating for the day.
