Hello
Just got my 2009 170cc love it. It's still kind of cold up here in Maine but the Stripers are here. The only thing i don't like are those black spots any help with that.
Thanks

Welcome aboard and congratulations on the new 170CC!

Welcome to the Club! Do a forum search for Black Spots. I know ther ehave been several remedies offered and maybe you can find one that works for you.

I have found that "Reliable 1 super spray cleaner" works like magic on these boats with next to no effort. I picked this stuff at my rv supplier and use it on just about everything I own as it makes cleaning a breeze. It is an alkaline based cleaner and I spray it on non-diluted and wipe it off with a cloth. After I am done with an area, I simply just hose it off.

Welcome aboard, Maine09. Congrats on the new boat! You're going to love it! As for the "little black dots", a pressure washer is your answer. The plastic has little irregularities in the surface that traps dirt, a pressure washer takes them right out. You can also use a "do it yourself" carwash that has the high pressure wands. You can pre-treat the areas with any kind of detergent (I use a cheap version of Liquid Tide) and it will make the dots easier to remove.

Tight lines and let's see some Striper pics.

Thanks
Reading all you have wrote about this boat is one of the reason's i pick it. I put an 60 etech on it seems to push it along very well. I did read in the book you should not trailer the boat with the motor trimmed up but it's to low to the ground any input on that. The motor has stops on it and thats what they told me to do was use the stops and trim all the way up.
Thanks

maine09,
You may want to get a transom saver or My-Wedge for your E-tech. You could hit a hard bump and the motor could go up and the "stop" may fall down and your motor come down hard on the pavement. I owned a 170CC and moved up to the 195CC. My wife still gives me a hard time about selling the 170.It is the best model that Triumph sells in my opinion.Enjoy your boat.

As Fridaysoff said, transom saver is your answer...it takes the load of the motor bouncing and transfers the energy to the trailer instead of the boat or motor mounts.

Tight lines.

Welcome aboard Maine09 and congrats on your choice of boats. You're going to love it. I agree with the others that a transom saver is your best bet.

Hello
Took it out today went great. I do have a clicking sound in the steering but think I have read other people saying the same thing. The boat really rides nice for a small boat.
