Kicker Support

I have a 191 FS with a Yamaha 150 and a 9.9 kicker. When I am out using my 150, my kicker will sometimes flip up if I leave it in the down position (which isn't a good thing) and if I use the tilt lock to have it in the up position, the motor will come crashing down in rough water. Maybe I'm just missing something but is there a way to lock the kicker in the upright position? Anyone using some other solution for this problem? TIA

I am guessing here, will give you a definite tomorrow. The way I'm used to keeping small motors up is tilting the motor up, letting it rest on the tilt support, then flipping the tilt lever to the down position, normally this locks the motor against the tilt support. I'm not sure exactly how the yamaha's tilit mechanism works, but I can look at it tomorrow when I stop by the shop. We'll get you taken care of though, don't worry.
