215cc 150 yamaha prop

I have a 215cc w 150 Yamaha alum prop stock, I use the boat in salt water. Has any body changed their prop to a SS or 4 blade, what was the out come or is it better to stay with the stock prop. I would appreciate any information on the subject. A friend of mind let me use his prop which was a 5 blade SS, it got up quick but my gas millage dropped.

Is your 150 Yamaha a two stroke or four stroke? Makes a big difference in which prop works well, as the RPM range and torque peak are different. Either way, you'll see an improvement going from aluminum to stainless but I think five blades is excessive for this boat.

Contact Joe Oliver at Johnson Marine in Ontario, Ca. I have a 4 blade on a 150 and it works great. Tops out at 40-42mph.

walkerm, do you run in salt water or fresh water plus did it affect your gas mileage? do you know which prop you have?
