Greetings all,

I'm getting close to buying a 195 DC. I will be using it primarily on the Indian River (Intercostal waterway) and on the Tennessee River in the Knoxville area.

This is a new model for Triumph. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I'm trying to decide between the 115 hp Yamaha and the 150 hp version. Any input?

I just ordered my 195DC a couple of weeks ago. I should be getting it here by the middle of the month. I struggled over the HP issue as well. Problem is that there is a pretty big HP gap between the 115 and the 150. I ended up getting a quote from a Triumph dealer who sells Hondas. I got the quote for a 135 honda. The Triumph / Yamaha dealer came down on their price for the Yamaha 150 upgrade. Check out the Triumph Boats sight. Check the link below. If your satisfied with 35 to 38 MPH then go with the 115. If you got $2k more to spend and want 45 mph then go with the 150. As a bonus, all the performance tests I've looked at show that the 150 will get 1 to 2 mpg better gas mileage. Won't take long to make up the $ difference in motors with gas costing $2.75!!

Good Luck!!

I bought the 115 hp Yamaha

I went ahead with the 115 hp Yamaha. It is quiet and seems to have plenty of zip on the back of the 195 DC. The wife and I are really looking forward to spending some time on the water in this boat!

Good Deal!!

Well, I think your going to be happy with your choice, it is the standard engine for the rig, after all. You're a heck of a lot better off than I am. Another delay on my boat.... It is now getting here on Monday, then a couple days to prep and put the motor on. I am chomping at the bit as the weather has finally broke up here in the North Country. Did you put a fishfinder on your boat? Congratulations again.

Happy Boating,
Ron
