Just noticed that the inlet for the livewell sits on the bunk, Is this normal? Will it distort the bottom of the boat over time? Any info would be appreciated as I am a newby for this craft.

Thanks

I just talked to Carl Merritt at Merritt Marine and someone from the factory that's here right now and they told me that the bunk has a notch in it for the fitting. If it does not it could be a problem. You should be able to feel the notch. There were some boats that left the factory without it.

Thanks for the info.....There is about 3-4 inches of plank sticking out from the sterm so maybe the boat is positioned too far forward. Guess I'll see if I can move the boat back a tad and find the cutout.

Thanks again for getting the info.....much rather ask than be sorry.

Gotta love this place! Hooked the trailer up to my tow car and then hooked up the stern using rope to my tractor....a little reverse on the tractor pulled the boat even with the center bunks. The inlet for the live well is now sitting in the pocket. Also changed out the rather small light weight winch for a two speed that I used on my 2500 pound Trophy. With a 9 - 10 foot tide some of the ramps are a bit steep so the two speed should work well on the 170 DC. Also had to adjust the post forward a few inches to make up for the new position on the trailer.
Thanks again, I don't think I'll have any more questions, at least for today!
