I needed a means of temporarly storing rods while trailering to the ramp, so the rods couldn't be seen and wouldn't get damaged. I wanted to be able to stash them in the boat without taking up alot of space or permenantely installing holders that would be in the way. (once at the ramp, I use my rocket launcher)
KISS is what I came up with..........A couple of nylon cords and I made a couple of three rod holders units that swivel closed and open.
KISS= keep it stupid simple
